With around 700 guests from across the cricketing world and covered by international media including the BBC from London and Pakistan tv, GAN 2015 was the biggest cricket event of its kind yet held in Germany.

Prominent guests in Cologne included ICC President and ex Pakistan legend Zaheer Abbas who helped launch a new national organisation for cricket in Germany, the Deutsche Cricket Union (DCU) which plans to find fresh ways to grow the sport in a country which to-date has struggled to reach its cricketing potential.

And among the other high profile guest speakers and presenters of awards were current England players Moeen Ali, Jason Roy and Chris Jordan; Indian legend Madan Lal, Pakistan's Imran Nazir and Derbyshire CCC CEO Simon Storey.

Inspired by such a great event and the many esteemed guests, it is hoped that cricket in Germany will finally start to achieve the potential it has long had. One thing's certain:  following the coming cricket season, many cricket fans will be hoping for invitations to GAN 2016!
